Full-Time or Part-Time After-Hours Sessions

Medicare-compliant after-hours sessions — rostered evenings and weekends, full-time or a part-time load that suits you. Tell us your preference on the form.

A Route for 19AB-Restricted Doctors

Because these are after-hours sessions, doctors subject to the section 19AB moratorium can access Medicare here via the after-hours exemption — without a Distribution Priority Area placement. This is the practical Medicare pathway for restricted overseas-trained doctors.

Employment & Remuneration

This is an employed position. Remuneration structure, session load (full-time or part-time), rostering, and other employment terms are discussed during the application process.

Section 19AB of the Health Insurance Act restricts Medicare billing for some overseas-trained doctors, typically for their first ten years. We're looking for experienced UK, Irish, and US-qualified GPs and family physicians

Requirements

  • ✓MRCGP, ABFM/ABOFP board certification, or equivalent specialist qualification
  • ✓CCT (UK) or completed family medicine residency (US) preferred
  • ✓Full registration in good standing — GMC, IMC, or US state board / ECFMG
  • ✓Minimum 2 years post-qualification GP / family medicine experience
  • ✓Eligible for AHPRA via the Competent Authority pathway (UK, Ireland & US recognised)
